The roots of Comrads go back to before the turn of the millennium. With the arrival of new Internet techniques and open-source technologies such as PHP and MySQL and inspired by its clients, the creative DTP agency Comrads in Emmeloord made a groundbreaking decision.
For innovative clients such as PricewaterhouseCoopers, General Electric, Atos Origin and Legal & General, the first generation of online Digital Asset Management and Web-to-print solutions were developed and implemented in the years that followed. Applications that had a major impact on these organisations and managed to shorten many traditional processes by weeks, sometimes by months.

In order to grow into the intuitive and innovative SaaS solution that it is today, the team recognized that it was time to position Comrads as an independent marketing software development company.
Comrads' board of directors, consisting of marketing professionals Sebastiaan and Erwin, acquired Comrads Solutions in 2011 and established the company in the marketing capital of Amsterdam to continue its journey as a leading marketing software company.
