Search your assets by location? Now you can!

When you store your digital assets in a DAM system, you want to give them the necessary metadata. Recently, our DAM system also allows you to pin assets to location. This allows you to quickly find all your content on a map.

Limited features

When you store your photos, files, corporate identity elements and other digital media in a storage system, you want to give them the necessary metadata. If you use a repository like Dropbox or OneDrive, you can only give it a few attributes. This often does not go much further than the name of the uploader, the date and time of upload or modification, the extension and size of the file. For an image, you can store all kinds of data such as white balance and shutter speed, and for Microsoft Office files you can include some information about the number of words, paragraphs and pages. That's about it.

Find what you are looking for

If you choose a Digital Asset Management system, it has several advantages. It gives you a way to organize and structure your content, and assure yourself that your content is always of the same quality, regardless of the format. Another big advantage of a DAM system is that it allows you to add a huge amount of metadata, including metadata that is very specific to your organization, so you can find exactly the element you are looking for.

Geomapping

In Comrads' DAM system, you can recently pin your assets by location. This allows you to find your search result on a map. Just as booking.com allows you to switch between list view and map view of the hotels that meet your search criteria, you can now do the same in our DAM system. Especially for users who have location-based content, this is a very useful feature to quickly search by continents, countries, regions and place names. For example, organizations operating in civil engineering and managing locks and pumping plants throughout the country can quickly search for digital content they have for that specific location. Search by certain coordinates or zoom in on the map, and find all content related to a particular place. We can't make it much easier!
